Since young I have had the love for horses. So I wanted to find a career that supported my horse addiction.
WIth this I have taken to becoming a Farrier, starting my own brand Holbrook Equestrian, Starting/ Producing many successful young horses, Schooling horses where owners need help, And competing for fun!
A FEW PHOTOS OF OUR BRAND
A few horses that I have started, produced and sold on.
Most of my horses I sell on come off the hills of Ruatoria/Te araroa and surrounding areas. Most have minimal to no handling on arrival, with a few even been 'wild'. Whatever the challenge I strive to produce horses that are Happy, kind, have a want to please, relaxed, bold and confident in themselves.
I love for them to have a beautiful and full personal
Aramex is a East coast nati bred, he came with some handling. Aramex and I went eventing to 95cm, derbies to 90cm, Show jumping to 90cm, pony club, scored my highest dressage percentage of 72% to date. Excessively hacked at the beach and forest.
This young pony being 4.5 years when I got him has gone on to a 5* home in Cambridge where he is making a very lucky girl happy. She was quite nervous as her previous horses was naughty, so Aramex was a breath of fresh are having something safe for her to have fun on.
Lacey is from Ruatoria, she is a 16-16.1hh 5yr Clydie x qh (kabob lines) quietest horse around. like a few others although being young and green, she has made a nervous rider happy and confident!
Hazel was a 5yr Gisborne bred mare which I purchased unbroken. Only having her two months; I started her, took her out show jumping/hacking and found her a wonderful home, with a rider that suits her perfectly.
Progress photos of hazel, Last photo is of her with her new owner.
I got Phoenix because the owner couldn't ride him, and had lots of issues with him.
I had him for a few months, and saw to his issues. He was sore due to an ill fitting saddle and due to strouser trimming.
Rather quickly he became right and after building muscle due to using them correctly, we were out and about doing all sorts of things! He was a super cool pony who sold to a young girl who is now doing pony club and low level shows on him!
I started and developed Dakota into a lovely young mare. Dakota and I had lots of fun on the show jumping circuit competing to 1.20m, we also attempted our fair share of dressage events, placing everytime, ODE’s which we also placed in every event, We also enjoyed many derbies!
She is a super cool pony that i found hard to part with but has now found a lovely home with a girl, and the two of them are a match made in heaven!
Having Elleras from a foal she was a pleasure to have around and has sold to the most wonderful home.
She had a stunning jump, this young mare had fun doing showing, derbys and show jumping to 1m before finding her perfect home.
Cherry, she was a 14.1hh welsh x pony. Sold as a 4yr to a lovely kid who had oly been riding for two years. cherry was a super cool pony that was full of character but very willing to please.
She has now found a lovely home in auckland with a little kid who adores her dearley.
Nala is a gisbornebred 4yr 15.2hh mare. She was the sweetest mare. Coming to us covered in lice and rain scald, she quickly turned into a stunning mare, she like all others was taken to the beach/forest/shows/open days alone and in company. This super little mare has found the most wonderful home in the waikato, and is doing really well at her new home.
